Mari Stracke is a German-born, London-based writer, filmmaker, and mental health advocate with a vibrant voice in the industry and a loyal online following of 50,000 on Instagram. Trained in directing at Newport Film School and screenwriting at Goldsmiths, University of London, Mari has worked across Europe and the U.S., bringing her talents as a writer, director, and actor to a range of impactful projects. Now a partner at ISSA, she’s committed to helping students unlock their potential and create authentic, memorable performances on screen.
As an active content creator and mental health advocate, Mari shares her own experiences with PTSD and anxiety, fostering open conversations and building a supportive community online. Her candid, relatable approach resonates deeply with her audience and brings a unique depth to her work with aspiring actors.
With her hands-on, collaborative style, Mari is dedicated to guiding students through the complexities of screen performance. As an experienced 1st AD in the British film industry and a member of Women in Film and TV (WFTV), she’s passionate about empowering new talent, especially women, in the film world.
Beyond ISSA, Mari co-founded Screenlounge, where she leads workshops on screen acting and social media for artists. She’s also working on her first novel, blending themes of resilience and mental health.
